Keansburg Memorial Day Parade: Sunday May 28th

Parade begins at The intersection of Raritan Avenue and Center Avenue and will step off at 1:30. The parade then heads down Center Avenue to Main Street, where it makes a right turn, proceeds down to Church Street, where it makes another right turn, continuing to Carr Avenue and then ending at the American legion.

The Parade ends at Keansburg's American Legion Post 273 for some after parade activities, hot dogs and burgers.

Keansburg cemetery also known as Palmer Wood cemetery or Old Truax Burying Ground dates back to before the Civil War.

The oldest plot found on record: Truax Samuel Sr 1717-1792.

This historic resting ground is being cleaned out of the decades of over growth and lack of maintenance for years. Thank you to to the Keansburg Public Works and volunteers organized by the Keansburg Museum and Historical Society for leading this effort. There will be a memorial service at the Old Truax Burying Ground during Keansburg's Centennial Celebration Weekend.

There is also a wall of honor at the museum with pictures of those who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The Keansburg Historic Museum (59 Carr Ave) is open on Saturdays and Sundays from Noon to 4PM.
